If I Don’t Have a Business Address, How Can I Verify Google Business Profile?

Short Answer

Choose Service Area Business and use your home address for verification only. Your street address stays hidden on your public listing, and you can still appear in local searches for the service areas you set.

Overview

Google supports businesses that visit customers at their location (plumbers, roofers, cleaners, etc.). These are called Service Area Businesses (SABs). You verify ownership with a real address (often your home), the address will not show; only the cities/areas you serve.

Steps: Verify as a Service Area Business

  1. Sign in: Go to Google Business Profile and sign in with your Google account.

  2. Add Business: Click Add your business and enter your business name and category.

  3. Choose Business Type: Select Service Area Business.

  4. Enter Verification Address:

    • Enter your home address for verification.

    • Check the option to hide the address so it won’t display publicly.

  5. Set Service Areas: Add the cities/ZIP codes you serve (you can add multiple and adjust later).

  6. Verify Ownership: Complete the verification method offered (postcard to your home, video verification, phone, or email—options vary).

  7. Finish Your Profile: Add phone, website, hours, services, photos, and a strong description.

  8. Connect to Rebolt (recommended): In Social Media → Settings, connect your GBP so Rebolt can post and run the GBP Optimizer.

Tips & Requirements

  • Use a real address for verification: P.O. boxes and virtual offices are not accepted.

  • Keep your service areas realistic (cover the regions you genuinely serve).

  • After verification, add photos regularly and collect reviews to build trust and rankings.
