Overview
After you connect your Google Business Profile, the Optimizer scans it, gives you a Profile Score out of 100, and surfaces a prioritized list of fixes. Work through the list and your score updates in real time.
Score Breakdown
Your Profile Score is calculated across 8 categories:
Business Information — 10 pts
Category Information — 5 pts
Service Information — 10 pts
Service Areas — 10 pts
Hours — 10 pts
Contact — 10 pts
Reviews — 25 pts
Photos — 20 pts
Reviews and Photos represent 45% of your score — they're also the two areas that take the most ongoing effort, which is why the Optimizer surfaces them as top opportunities.
What the Optimizer Checks
Common fixes you may see:
Business Description: Include at least one service and one service area; keep it within 250–750 characters. Rebolt can generate a suggested description for you.
Categories: Choose a precise primary category and add 2+ additional categories that reflect your broader services (e.g., if your primary is "Siding Contractor," add Roofing Contractor, General Contractor, etc.).
Services: Add 10+ services to your GBP listing to represent your full offering and capture niche searches.
Service Areas: Add at least 5 service areas you actively cover. Rebolt can push up to 20 cities from your website directly to GBP.
Hours: Confirm your hours are accurate and up to date.
Contact: Verify your phone number and website URL are correct.
Photos: Upload recent job photos monthly. Add a logo and cover photo if missing — these are quick wins that many profiles overlook.
Reviews: Build toward 10+ reviews and maintain a cadence of 4 new reviews/month (see below).
Reviews: The #1 Priority
Google reviews are the single most important signal for local ranking. Here's why it matters:
The 10-review threshold: Google's local "map pack" (the 3 businesses that appear at the top of search results) is essentially unavailable until you have at least 10 reviews. Getting to 10 as quickly as possible is the fastest way to start appearing in local search.
4 reviews per month: Once you hit 10, the goal is steady momentum — at least 4 new 5-star reviews per month. This signals to Google that your business is active and popular, which sustains and improves ranking over time.
Respond to every review: Replying to reviews (positive and negative) is a trust and engagement signal. Rebolt's Reviews tab includes AI-assisted responses to make this fast.
SEO is about momentum, not a finish line. Getting 100 reviews and stopping is less effective than consistently getting 4/month. The ongoing cadence is what keeps you ranking.
NAP Consistency
NAP stands for Name, Address, Phone — the three pieces of information Google cross-references between your GBP and your website to verify legitimacy.
If your business name, address, or phone number on GBP doesn't exactly match what's on your Rebolt website, Google may discount or distrust your listing. Make sure these match across both.
In Rebolt, update your NAP in Settings → Company Info → Contact. Your GBP details are managed directly on your Google Business Profile.
Monthly Photos — How Rebolt Handles This Automatically
Google wants to see new photos added to your GBP at least once per month. This is a scored item in the Optimizer.
Rebolt handles this automatically: Every time you publish a post using Social Media → Posts in the mobile app and select Google as one of your channels, that post's image is sent directly to your GBP photos section — no manual uploading required.
Tip: Make sure Google is selected as a channel when posting. One post per month is enough to satisfy the monthly photo update requirement.
Step‑by‑Step
Connect Business Profile (if you haven't yet) from the main GBP Optimizer page.
Open Optimizer to view your Profile Score and the Opportunities list.
Work through items in order — each links to the specific field you need to update.
Save changes as you go; your score updates after each fix.
Return periodically to check for new opportunities (especially as you gain reviews or add services).
Pro Tips
Match your website: Align services, service areas, and business name/address/phone with your Rebolt website pages (NAP consistency).
Use real project photos: Before/after and wide job shots outperform stock imagery. Add a logo and cover photo if you haven't yet.
Post regularly: Use Social Media → Posts in the mobile app with Google selected — your posts become GBP photos automatically.
Keep asking for reviews: Send review requests after every completed job. Getting to 10 is the top priority; 4/month is the maintenance goal.
Reply to every review: It signals engagement and improves conversion for customers who read your reviews before calling.
Troubleshooting
"Rebolt Already Has Permission" Error
This error appears when you try to connect your Google Business Profile and Google believes Rebolt already has authorization — typically after cleaning up a duplicate GBP profile or after previously revoking access.
How to fix it:
Go to your Google Account → Security → Third-party apps & services.
Find Rebolt in the list and click Remove access.
Return to GBP Optimizer in your Rebolt dashboard and click Connect Business Profile again.
If the error persists after revoking access, contact support via the in-app chat. In some cases the authorization token needs to be cleared on our end.
