Short Answer:
In DreamHost navigate to Billing & Account→ Account Access, click Grant Privileges to a New Person, enter [email protected] (Name: Rebolt), choose DNS privileges for your domain, then Set Privileges. DreamHost will email the new user to complete access.
Overview:
Granting Rebolt access in DreamHost lets us safely update DNS (A/CNAME) so your domain points to your new Rebolt website. Your old site isn’t deleted; after DNS updates, it simply won’t use your domain.
Steps: Grant Rebolt Privileges:
Log in to your DreamHost panel and navigate to Account Access.
Click Grant Privileges to a New Person.
Enter the invite details:
Email: [email protected]
Name: Rebolt
Select the additional privileges to grant (see recommendation below).
Click Set Privileges to save.
What happens next: DreamHost sends a confirmation email to the new user, prompting a password setup/confirmation so we can access the account.
Recommended Privileges:
Grant access that includes DNS management for the specific domain/zone we’re launching.
Keep access minimal (DNS-only or equivalent).
Only grant broader roles (e.g., hosting, billing) if you want help beyond DNS.
We use access solely to configure DNS and verify your launch.
What We’ll Do With Access:
Update A and/or CNAME records so your domain points to your Rebolt website.
Verify propagation and confirm the site is live at your brand URL.
Troubleshooting:
Invite email not received? Re-send from Account Access and have us check spam.
Wrong privileges? Edit the user under Account Access to add DNS for the correct domain.
Can’t find Account Access? Use the DreamHost panel search for “Account Access”.
