How To Share Access To Your Domain On Squarespace

Updated this week

Short Answer

In Squarespace → Domains → [Your Domain] → Permissions, click Invite domain manager, enter our email ([email protected]), and send. If that option isn’t available, add us as an Administrator instead or copy the invite link manually.

Overview

Granting Rebolt access to your Squarespace domain lets us safely update DNS so your domain points to your new Rebolt website. Your old site isn’t deleted; it simply won’t use the domain once DNS is updated.

  1. Open your Squarespace account and go to the Domains dashboard.

  2. Select your Domain.

  3. Click Permissions.

  4. Click Invite Contributor.

  5. Enter the contributor’s name and email (use [email protected]).

  6. Send the invite; Rebolt will accept it on our side.

If “Invite Domain Manager” Isn’t Available

Some Squarespace domains inherit permissions from the associated website. In that case, invite Rebolt as a Site Administrator instead (same email). We can still complete DNS updates for launch.

Manually Send an Invitation Link

If the invited contributor doesn’t receive the email:

  1. Go to Domains → [Your Domain] → Permissions.

  2. In Invites sent, click next to the invite.

  3. Select Copy invite link.

  4. Paste the link in a reply to your Rebolt email thread so we can accept directly.

Tip: Have the invitee check spam for [email protected] before using the manual link.

What We’ll Do With Access

  • Update A/CNAME DNS records to point your domain to your Rebolt website.

  • Verify that the change propagated and your site is live at your brand URL.

  • Send you a brief change log confirming what was updated.

Troubleshooting

  • Invite not found? Make sure you’re on the Domains dashboard (not just Website settings).

  • Permission option missing? Use the Administrator route (see above).

  • Wrong email used? Remove the invite and re-send to [email protected]

  • Still stuck? Send a screenshot of your Permissions panel to Rebolt Support or contact us through chat. We’ll walk you through it.
